How This Works

A weighted average is calculated by multiplying each module's mark by its credit value, adding them together, then dividing by total credits. This ensures a 60-credit dissertation counts more than a 10-credit module. UK classifications: First ≥70%, Upper Second ≥60%, Lower Second ≥50%, Third ≥40%.

No — most UK universities weight years differently. Final year typically counts for 60–80% of the degree, second year 20–40%, and first year 0% (pass/fail only). Check your specific university's regulations — they vary significantly. Some universities use a 'best of' model for borderline classifications.
